Ecology of Migratory Birds
August 23-26, 2010 $370 (10% membership discount)
Autumn in Denali is bustling with activity as migratory birds prepare for their epic journeys. With Denali National Park Ornithologist Dr. Carol McIntyre, we’ll explore the Wonder Lake region, one of the best places in Denali to search for flocks of migratory birds and to study their behavior. During the day, we will explore the nearby ridges, forests and wetlands in search of the many different species of birds that live or migrate through these areas. During the evening, we will share discussions focused on the ecology and conservation of migratory birds, listen to the flight calls of migrating songbirds as they pass overhead, and perhaps enjoy the northern lights. Carol McIntyre is co-author of Birds of Denali.
